420HP Cruzer Plus

In 1985 we built an engine for Hot Rod Magazine and Pete & Jake. They wanted a streetable high performance engine that could cruise cross country, run at the Street Rod Drags, and produce an Honest 350 HP. Well "All Goals" were met with one exception, we made 420 Honest HP.

The '39 convertible ran 12.03 @ 117mph At Fremond, Ca. Then ran cross country getting 15 MPG !!! (see Hot Rod magazine August 1985 and Street Rodder magazine September 1985). We build this combination with more extras and when you compare it with a GM Fast Burn 385, you will make the easy choice and buy a Jon Barrett engine. As with all Jon Barrett Engines, you get more horsepower, torque, extras, and still have money in your pocket.
